Sea Isle City Octoberfest

Jersey Shore fun in October? What!?!?!?

That’s right. Sea Isle City has announced that it will be hosting an annual event each October called Octoberfest.

Octoberfest was created to be a celebration of German food and of course, beer!

The Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce is will host the first annual Octoberfest on October 20th 2007. The event will take place from noon to 6pm.

Sea Isle’s Octoberfest has something for everyone. It will include fun family events such as a treasure hunt, face painting, pony rides and apple dunking plus a variety of fun seasonal contests including pumpkin painting contests and costume contests. And what would a Jersey Shore event be without the ultimate sand castle competition.

Family events are planned to take place from 12 noon to 4pm.

Of course the main attraction to any Octoberfest is the beer garden. Sea Isle City’s festival is no different. From 2-6pm a typical German themed Octoberfest will feature dozens of various beers. Entry to the beer garden portion of the event will cost $10.

If you’re planning to come down to the Jersey Shore to celebrate Octoberfest in Sea Isle City, why not stay at the Colonnade Inn?

September: The best month to visit the Jersey Shore?

Let me tell you a secret that most people don’t know. For Jersey Shore veterans, the best month of the year to visit the Jersey Shore is September.

September? Yes, September. It may sound like the beginning of fall, but in reality, a September vacation gives you the following benefits:

  1. Smaller crowds
  2. Warm water
  3. Less intense sun
  4. San Diego temperatures
  5. Cheaper rentals

Smaller Crowds

The difference between August and September is just short of amazing. But the fact is that the kids start back to school in September, and the beach crowds are much smaller. The great thing is that the entire month of September is ripe for enjoying a day at the beach.

Warm Water

In September, you’ve literally got the warmest water of the year. The ocean has had the chance to warm up from April-August. In September, you catch the ocean water at its very peak temperature for the year.

Less intense sun

Most people agree that the sun is most intense at the Jersey Shore in July and August. A mid or late September shore vacation brings great relief from the highest intensity sun.

San Diego temperatures

You know what they say about San Diego temperatures. 70’s all year round. Well, for much of September that’s exactly what you’ll get. Comfortable temperatures, perfect for a relaxing day at the beach.

Cheaper rentals

After the first week of September, prices for rentals at the shore go down quite a bit. Plan a mid or late September week-long vacation and you could save hundreds of dollars.

Conclusion

The fact is that if you can afford to wait until September, you’ll be in for the perfect Jersey Shore vacation at the perfect time of year. Not only will you avoid the large crowds, the intense sun and the peak-season prices, but you’ll also have the best water temperatures of the year. So if your fortunate enough to have September available, why not plan your trip then. It could be the best decision you make.

Sea Isle Gets Ready for Summer 2007 at the Beach

You can feel it in the air. As June approaches, Jersey Shore life kicks into full gear. And this is music to the ears of people who love the beach.

At the Colonnade Inn, we’re excited for the new year, the chance to meet new people, and the joy of seeing old friends again. June, July, August and September mark the highpoints of the Jersey Shore life. The feeling of being in Sea Isle City during the summer is like nothing you’ve ever experienced.

With the good of the summer also come the bad. As July and August approach it becomes increasingly hard to find a place to stay in Sea Isle, especially on the weekends. Fortunately, The Colonnade Inn may have you covered. If you’re looking for a last minute place to stay, we may be able to help you.

While we do normally book all of our units on the weekends, if you’re looking for a mid-week trip, our best opportunities for finding a place to stay are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. If you’re off for the summer, and longing to get your Jersey Shore fix, why not try a mid-week vacation. Not only are the beaches less crowded but you’re more likely to find the perfect place to rent. for
